  • For the safety of all our customers and staff, Foster Street Storage does not permit the storage of perishable food, hazardous chemicals, flammable materials, or illegal items. This includes fireworks, explosives, gasoline, paint, and any liquids that could leak or cause damage. Not sure about a specific item? Give us a call — we're happy to help.

  • At Foster Street Storage, every unit is climate controlled, so you never have to wonder. Our units maintain a stable temperature year-round, protecting your belongings from Indiana's summer heat, harsh winters, and humidity swings in between.

  • Most household items hold up fine in standard storage, but certain materials are more sensitive to temperature and moisture changes. Since every Foster Street unit is climate controlled, everything you store here is already protected. Items that especially benefit include:

    • Wooden furniture and antiques

    • Electronics and appliances

    • Leather or delicate clothing

    • Paper documents, books, and records

    • Musical instruments

    • Artwork and home décor

    • Business inventory and equipment

  • Temperature and humidity fluctuations cause materials to expand, contract, warp, crack, fade, and grow mold over time. Our climate-controlled units keep conditions consistent year-round, significantly reducing that risk, especially important for long-term storage in Indiana's climate.

  • When you rent a unit at Foster Street Storage, you'll receive a unique personal entry code to access the facility. This ensures only active tenants can come and go, keeping unauthorized visitors out at all times. We also recommend using your own padlock on your individual unit door for an extra layer of security.

  • Our facility features secured gated access with personalized entry codes, and well-lit grounds, so you feel safe whether you're stopping by at noon or midnight. Our support team is also available daily 8am – 6pm if you ever have a concern or question about your unit.

  • Yes, gate access is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. Your schedule is yours. While our support team is available daily 8am – 6pm, your access to the facility never stops.

  • Here's a quick guide to help you decide:

    • 5×10 — Great for boxes, small furniture, seasonal items, and sports equipment

    • 7×7 — Perfect for a bedroom's worth of furniture or a small apartment's overflow

    • 10×25 — Ideal for full household contents, large furniture sets, business inventory, or equipment. Can also fit a vehicle or boat.

Still not sure? Call us at (765) 427-0409 and we'll help you find the right fit without paying for more space than you need.

  • Great question. The 5×10 is longer and narrower, better for stacking boxes and tall items. The 7×7 is more square-shaped, giving you easier access to everything inside and a bit more flexibility in how you arrange your belongings. Both are the same monthly rate, so it really comes down to what you're storing and how you like to organize.

  • A few simple steps go a long way. Use sturdy boxes, label everything clearly, wrap fragile items in padding, and place heavier boxes on the bottom. Disassemble large furniture when possible to maximize space. For long-term storage, consider covers for upholstered items. Need more tips? Call us, we're happy to walk you through it.
